Templates & the Materials Calculator

Two tools make quoting faster: templates for reusable line items, and the Materials Calculator for estimating materials.

Quote templates

When you create a quote, the Template dropdown pre-fills the line items for a kind of job.

  • Pick a Category first to filter the template list.
  • Selecting a template loads its labor line (hourly or flat rate) plus its default materials as Material lines, and can fill the notes and a valid-until date.
  • Adjust quantities and unit costs after loading — the template is a starting point.

You can also save a job as a template from a job's detail page (Save as Template), which then appears in the New Job "From Template" picker.

Materials Calculator (Pro)

On the New Quote form, the Materials Calculator estimates the materials a job needs and adds them straight to your line items.

  1. Open the calculator section on the quote
  2. Run the estimate
  3. Click Add to Quote Line Items

The materials drop in as Material lines with quantities filled — you set the unit costs.

AI-assisted estimates

If items come from AI (for example, photo analysis), a yellow warning banner stays on the quote until you dismiss it. Review every quantity and cost before sending the quote or ordering materials — confidence is shown so you know how much scrutiny to apply.
