Voiding, Editing & Deleting Invoices
Sometimes an invoice needs to change after it's created. Here are your options.
Editing an invoice
Open the invoice and click Edit in the header. You can update the notes, due date, payment terms, and status, then click Save Changes. The line items reflect what was loaded when the invoice was created; to re-pull from a linked job, use Refresh from Job.
Voiding an invoice
To cancel an invoice without deleting it, set its status to Void using the status dropdown in the header. A voided invoice stays on file but is no longer an active balance. The Send button is hidden for void invoices.
Deleting an invoice
To remove an invoice entirely, click Delete in the header and confirm. This permanently deletes the invoice and can't be undone — use Void instead if you want to keep a record.
Refreshing line items
If an invoice is linked to a job and isn't paid or void, Refresh from Job re-pulls the quote line items and tracked labor from that job. Handy when the job changed after you started the invoice.
FAQ
Void or delete — which should I use? Void keeps the invoice on file (recommended for records). Delete removes it permanently.
Can I edit the line items directly? Edit covers notes, due date, terms, and status. Line items come from creation or Refresh from Job.
Can I un-void an invoice? Set the status back with the status dropdown.
What happens to a customer's link when I void? The hosted page reflects the current status; a voided invoice is no longer payable.
