Overdue Invoices

When an invoice passes its due date without payment, it's overdue. Here's how to spot and chase those in HandyBook.

Finding unpaid and overdue invoices

The Invoices screen lists every invoice with its status. Statuses include:

  • Unpaid — sent, awaiting payment
  • Partial — some of the balance is paid
  • Overdue — past the due date and unpaid
  • Paid — paid in full

Look at the status pill and the due date to see what needs attention.

Following up

To nudge a customer on an overdue invoice:

  1. Open the invoice
  2. Click Resend Invoice to send the link again (Email, Text, or Both)
  3. If Stripe Connect is on, click Copy Pay Link and send the secure pay link directly (e.g. by text or a personal email)

Because the hosted invoice page has a Pay Now button (with Stripe connected), most customers can clear the balance in a couple of taps.

Recording an offline payment

If the customer pays by cash, check, or transfer, open the invoice and click Record Payment so the balance and status update — otherwise it'll keep showing as unpaid.
