Sending an Invoice

Send the invoice to the customer so they can view it and — if you have Stripe connected — pay online.

How to send

  1. Open the invoice
  2. Click Send Invoice (it becomes Resend Invoice after the first send)
  3. Choose a channel in the dialog:
    • Email — to the customer's email on file
    • Text message — to their phone on file
    • Both

Each option is disabled if there's no email/phone on the customer. You'll get a confirmation email once it's delivered.

What the customer receives

A link to a branded hosted invoice page with the line items, totals, balance due, and — if Stripe Connect is set up — a Pay Now button. (See "The Hosted Invoice Page.")

Copy a pay link

If Stripe Connect is on and there's a balance due, you can click Copy Pay Link on the invoice to grab the secure customer-facing URL and share it however you like.

Other ways to pay

If you don't use online payments, set payment instructions (in your company settings) — they appear on the hosted page under "How to pay." You can then record offline payments yourself (see "Partial Payments & Deposits").
