Voice to Quote
Describe the job out loud and AI transcribes it, then drafts a quote you can review and adjust. Perfect when your hands are busy or you're walking a site. Available on the Business plan.
Where to find it
Open Dashboard → AI → Quote from Voice (/dashboard/ai/quote-from-voice). On lower plans the page shows a locked preview with an upgrade prompt.
How to use it
- Click Start recording and grant your browser microphone access. The button turns into Stop (Ns) with a running timer.
- Describe the work naturally — what needs doing, rough quantities, and any prices you already know.
- Click Stop when you're done. A playback bar appears so you can listen back.
- Click Generate quote. The button shows Transcribing & drafting… while it works.
- You get back:
- The Transcript of what you said
- A draft quote with a title, a confidence badge ("verify before sending"), a line-item table, and an Estimated total
Review the draft and edit anything that's off before you send it.
No microphone? Upload instead
Under the recorder there's an Upload an audio file link — pick any audio file and it runs the same transcribe-and-draft flow. Use this if mic access is blocked or you recorded on another device.
Talk in a way the AI can follow
- List items one by one — "First, replace the faucet. Second, swap the disposal…"
- Say prices you know — "I usually charge $185 for a faucet swap."
- Mention quantities and time — "We'll need four of these; about two hours of labor."
- Find a quieter spot — modest noise (an idling truck) is fine; a loud job site hurts accuracy.
What it costs
Voice to Quote draws from your account's shared monthly AI budget (a $20 real-cost cap pooled across your org). If that budget is used up, the page shows "AI is paused for this month — your $20 AI budget is used up" and points you to Billing to buy a credit pack. See the AI usage & budget article.
FAQ
Does it work offline? No — transcription happens in the cloud, so you need a connection.
Is the recording kept? The audio is uploaded so it can be transcribed. Review the transcript shown on screen; the draft is built from that text.
Why is the page locked? Voice to Quote is a Business-tier feature. Upgrade to unlock it.
