AI Quote from Photo

Upload photos of the job, and AI drafts a structured quote — title, line items, quantities, unit prices, and an estimated total — that you review and turn into a real quote. Available on the Business plan.

Where to find it

Open Dashboard → AI → Quote from Photo (/dashboard/ai/quote-from-photo). On Starter and Pro the page is locked behind an upgrade prompt; upgrade to Business to unlock it.

How to use it

Click Add photos and pick one or more shots of the work. Each uploads and shows a green Ready badge when it's done. JPG, PNG, and HEIC are all fine.
To drop a shot, hover it and click the trash icon.
Click Draft quote from photos. The button stays disabled while any photo is still uploading.
After a few seconds the AI returns a draft with:
- A quote title
- A Confidence badge — high, medium, or low
- A short summary of what it identified
- A table of line items (description, qty, unit price, line total)
- A Subtotal, optional Estimated tax, and Estimated total
Read it over, then click Create quote from this draft — this opens the new-quote screen pre-filled with the draft so you can edit every line, adjust pricing, and send. Or click Discard draft to start over.

Confidence is a signal, not a guarantee

The confidence badge tells you how sure the AI is. Treat low and medium drafts as rough starting points — the photos may have been cluttered, dim, or missing context. Always review the line items and prices before sending, especially for anything the photo couldn't show (hidden damage, code requirements, materials behind a wall).

Tips for better drafts

Multiple angles — a wide shot for context plus close-ups for detail.
Good lighting — clear photos read far better than dark ones.
Show scale — a hand or tape measure helps the AI judge size.
Capture the surroundings, not just the problem area.

What it costs

Every AI tool draws from your account's shared monthly AI budget — a $20 real-cost cap pooled across your whole org. A photo draft costs a fraction of a cent, so you can run thousands per month. FAQ

Is my customer data sent to the AI? Only the photos are sent for analysis — no customer names, addresses, or contact details are included in the request.

Can I quote from a description only? This tool needs at least one photo. To quote by talking instead, use Voice to Quote.

Why is the page greyed out? AI Quote from Photo is a Business-tier feature. The page shows a locked preview on lower plans with a one-click upgrade.
