AI Customer Chatbot

AI Customer Chatbot

A friendly AI assistant on your customer portal that answers common questions — your services, hours, and service area — in your business's voice, and gracefully hands off to you when it isn't sure. Available on the Business plan.

Where it appears

The chatbot lives on your branded customer portal. Customers see an Ask a question button in the bottom-right corner; tapping it opens a chat panel headed with your business name and styled in your brand's primary color. There's nothing for the customer to install.

What it knows

The bot answers from the business details you've already set up under your brand settings:

  • Your business name and description
  • Your hours
  • Your service area

Keep those fields current and the bot's answers stay accurate — there's no separate "train the bot" screen to manage. It pulls context automatically from your brand settings.

What it will and won't do

  • Answers questions about what you do, when you're open, and where you work.
  • Never quotes a price or makes a commitment. If a customer asks for a price, it suggests requesting a quote and flags the conversation for your team.
  • Never collects card details — it points customers to your secure portal instead.
  • Hands off honestly. When it can't confidently answer, it says the team will follow up rather than guessing.

Every chat shows a quiet disclosure that it's an AI assistant and may make mistakes, with a nudge to contact you directly for anything urgent.

What it costs

The chatbot draws from your account's shared monthly AI budget (a $20 real-cost cap pooled across your org). If that budget is exhausted, the bot doesn't show your customer any billing language — it simply replies that the team will follow up shortly and marks the chat for handoff. To keep it answering, top up with a credit pack (see the AI usage & budget article).

FAQ

How do I turn it on? The chatbot runs on the customer portal for Business-tier accounts. Make sure your business name, hours, and service area are filled in under brand settings so its answers are useful.

Can it book jobs or look up an invoice? No — it's a general-questions assistant. For pricing or account-specific requests it hands off to your team.

Is there an SMS or website-embed version, or a personality editor? Not today. The assistant is the portal chat widget, and its tone and knowledge come from your brand settings.

Does it use my customers' messages to train external AI? No.
