Automated Review Requests
Reviews drive new-customer trust, and the highest-leverage habit is asking after every completed job. HandyBook's Review Automation (CRM → Reviews) does the asking for you. It's a Business-plan feature.
How it works
Mark a job Complete, and HandyBook automatically queues a Google review request and sends it to the customer 24 hours later. The customer taps the link and lands on your Google review page. Manual sends are also supported.
Set your Review URL
The one thing you must configure is where the link points:
- Go to CRM → Reviews
- In the Review URL box, paste your Google review link — for Google, find your business and copy the "Get more reviews" link (it looks like
https://g.page/r/...) - Click Save
Use the Open link shortcut under the field to confirm it lands on your review page.
Watching results
Three stat cards at the top track the funnel:
- Sent — requests delivered
- Opened — the customer opened the request
- Clicked — the customer clicked through to leave a review
Below them, Recent requests lists each request with the customer, channel (email or SMS), sent time, and a status pill (Sent → Opened → Clicked, or Failed).
Best practices
- Get the URL right first — without a valid Review URL, requests have nowhere to send people
- Complete jobs promptly so the 24-hour timer starts while the work is fresh
- Reply to reviews on Google, good and bad — future customers read your replies
FAQ
Which platform does it use? Google. Set your Google review link as the Review URL.
When exactly does the request go out? About 24 hours after a job is marked complete.
Why does the list say "No requests sent yet"? None have been queued. Mark a job complete and one is queued automatically.
Why is the screen locked? Review Automation requires the Business plan.
