Payouts to Your Bank

A payout is Stripe transferring your collected online payments to your business bank account. Because HandyBook uses Stripe Connect, payouts are run and managed by Stripe.

Where payouts happen

Online card payments settle in your connected Stripe account, minus Stripe's processing fee (2.9% + 30¢) and HandyBook's 0.5% platform fee. Stripe then pays the balance out to your bank.

In your Stripe Dashboard you can:

  • See your payout schedule and history
  • Change the schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, or manual)
  • View available and pending balances
  • Update your bank account
  • Download statements

New Stripe accounts usually have a short initial hold before the first payout, then settle on Stripe's standard schedule.

Tracking payments inside HandyBook

The Payments screen lists every payment recorded against your invoices, with the method, amount, customer, and date. Open any payment to split it across your accounting (GL) codes for bookkeeping. For the bank payout itself — which combines several payments minus fees — use your Stripe Dashboard.

Offline payments

Cash, check, and transfer payments you record in HandyBook never pass through Stripe, so there's no Stripe payout for them — you bank them yourself.

Does HandyBook show a payouts report? HandyBook's Payments screen lists recorded payments; bank payouts are detailed in Stripe.
