Your Referral Code & Share Link

Every affiliate gets a unique referral code. When a business signs up using your code or link, you get credit — and start earning recurring commission on their subscription.

Where to find your code

Open Dashboard → Affiliate. Your code is shown in the Your code card at the top of your dashboard (it'll say "Your codes" if you have more than one). It's also listed on the Affiliate dashboard table under Your codes further down the page, where you can click any code to copy it to your clipboard.

If you don't have a code yet, you'll see "No active code yet — we'll set one up for you." Reach out to partners@handymanbook.app and the team will create one.

Two kinds of codes

  • Your referral code (attribution). This is your headline code. It carries no discount — customers enter it purely so the signup is attributed to you. This is the code on your fliers and links.
  • Discount codes (optional). The HandyBook team can add extra codes to your account that also give your referred customer a discount (a percentage off, a dollar amount off, or months free). These show up in your Your codes table with the offer described, and they earn you commission the same way. Discounts can make your code more compelling to share.

Your share link

The easiest way to refer someone is a link that applies your code automatically:

https://handymanbook.app/signup?ref=YOURCODE

Replace YOURCODE with your actual referral code. When someone opens that link and signs up, the ?ref= parameter attributes them to you — they don't have to type anything. You can put this link in texts, emails, social posts, or anywhere you promote.

Prefer to share just the code? Tell people to enter it at signup. Either path attributes the customer to you.

Fliers carry your code automatically

If the HandyBook team has created fliers for you (see Affiliate Fliers), every QR code and link printed on them already embeds your referral code — so anyone who scans or visits is credited to you with no extra steps.

FAQ

Can I change my code? The team sets your code. If you'd like a more memorable one (your business name, for example), ask partners@handymanbook.app.

What's the difference between my referral code and a discount code? Your referral code is for attribution only — no discount. A discount code does both: it credits you and gives the customer a deal. Both earn you commission.

Do I get credit if someone types my code instead of using the link? Yes. The link is just a convenience that fills the code in for them. Typing the code at signup works identically.

How do I know a referral worked? Watch your Affiliate dashboard — referred customers appear under Your customers, and redemptions show up in the Recent redemptions table.
