Customizing Your Sidebar Navigation

The owner can reshape the left sidebar for the whole account — reorder it, hide links you don't use, and control exactly which links each teammate sees. Everything lives at Dashboard → Settings → Navigation.

Who can do this

Only the owner can open the Navigation settings. Admins, members, and employees won't see the link — if they try the URL directly, they're sent back to Settings. (You'll reach it from Settings, where the Navigation button sits next to Change Password and Security & 2FA.)

Reorder and show/hide (everyone on the account)

The first section, Sidebar order & visibility, controls what the sidebar looks like for the whole company.

  • Reorder — grab the drag handle (the dotted grip on the left of each row) and drag a row up or down. You can drag individual items (like Customers) and whole sections (like POS or CRM, marked with a small Section tag).
  • Show or hide — each row has a toggle on the right. It reads Shown (green, with an eye icon) or Hidden (gray, with a crossed-out eye). Click it to flip the state. Hidden rows show grayed-out with a strikethrough so you can still see what's off.
  • Settings is locked — the Settings row can't be hidden. It's your way back to this screen, so its toggle is disabled.

When you're happy, click Save order & visibility. You'll see "Navigation saved. Refresh to see it in your sidebar." — reload the page and your new sidebar appears.

Hiding a link only removes it from the sidebar. It doesn't change anyone's permissions, and gated Pro/Business links keep their badge if you leave them shown.

Per-team-member access

The second section, Team member access, lets you tailor the sidebar person by person. Everyone can see every link by default — you remove access, link by link.

  1. Each teammate appears as a collapsible row showing Full access or, once you hide something, 2 links hidden (and so on).
  2. Click a teammate's name to expand their panel.
  3. You'll see every link grouped the same way the sidebar is (with section headers like POS and CRM). Each link has a checkbox.
  4. Checked = visible to that person. Uncheck a link to hide it from them.
  5. Click Save [name]'s access.

If you don't have any teammates yet, you'll see a prompt to invite people from the Team page first — come back here afterward to set their access. (See Team Members & Roles for inviting and seats.)

How the two settings combine

  • The order & visibility settings apply to everyone — a hidden link is hidden for the whole account.
  • Per-member access narrows further from there. If a section becomes empty for a teammate because all its links are hidden from them, the whole section drops out of their sidebar.

FAQ

A teammate says a link disappeared — did I break something? Check their row under Team member access. If a link is unchecked there, it's hidden just for them. Re-check it and save.

I added a new feature and it's not in my saved order — where is it? New links are automatically appended to the end of your order, still shown. Drag it where you want and save again.

Do changes apply instantly? Saving stores them right away, but your own sidebar reflects the order/visibility change after a refresh. Teammates see their access change on their next page load.

Can I hide Billing or Team from myself? You can hide most top-level items, but think twice — only Settings is protected. If you hide Billing, you can re-show it here any time.
