Zapier Integration
Zapier connects HandyBook to thousands of other apps without code. If HandyBook doesn't have a native integration for what you need, Zapier almost certainly does.
What you can do
Zapier "Zaps" (workflows) connect a trigger (something happens in HandyBook) to an action (something happens in another app), or vice versa.
Common Zaps people build
- New HandyBook customer → add to Mailchimp list
- Quote signed in HandyBook → post to Slack channel
- Invoice paid in HandyBook → record in Google Sheets
- New row in Google Sheets → create HandyBook customer
- New Facebook lead → create HandyBook lead
- Job completed → send a customer thank-you SMS via Twilio
- New review on Google → post to Slack

Costs
- Zapier free — 100 Zap runs/month, single-step Zaps. Fine for low-volume single-purpose Zaps.
- Zapier Starter (~$20/mo) — multi-step Zaps, 750 runs/month
- Zapier Pro (~$50/mo) — 2,000+ runs
For a typical HandyBook user, Zapier Starter is enough.
Limits
- API rate limits apply (HandyBook allows ~100 calls/minute)
- Some HandyBook fields are read-only (e.g. invoice numbers)
- Bulk operations not supported via Zapier — use the HandyBook API directly for those
Alternatives to Zapier
- Make.com (formerly Integromat) — similar product, often cheaper. HandyBook integration available too.
- Pipedream / n8n — self-hosted alternatives with HandyBook via webhooks
- Direct HandyBook API — for developers, full power and no per-run cost. See API Basics.
FAQ
Do I need to be technical to use Zapier? No — Zapier is point-and-click. Most users build Zaps in 5-10 minutes without writing any code.
Does Zapier slow down HandyBook? No — Zapier polls HandyBook for changes asynchronously. No impact on your HB experience.
What if a Zap fails? Zapier retries automatically. Persistent failures are emailed to you. View Zap history any time in Zapier dashboard.
Can I use Zapier to bulk-import data into HandyBook? Not efficiently — for bulk imports use HandyBook's CSV import. Zapier is designed for ongoing one-by-one events.
Is the Zapier integration free or paid for HandyBook users? HandyBook itself doesn't charge for Zapier integration. Zapier charges its own rates based on Zap usage.
