Finding Your Way Around
HandyBook keeps everything in a left sidebar so you always know where you are. Once you've used it for a day, the layout feels second nature.
The sidebar
Down the left side you'll find your main areas, including:
- Dashboard — your home snapshot
- Customers, Quotes, Jobs, Schedule
- Invoices, Payments, Expenses
- POS and CRM sections (Pro / Business)
- AI Tools, Reports, Team, Branding, Public Site, Integrations, Billing, and Settings
Features above your plan still appear, with a small Pro or Business badge — clicking one shows a preview behind an upgrade prompt so you can see what it does.
The sidebar is customizable
The account owner can reshape the sidebar for everyone at Settings → Navigation:
- Reorder top-level items and whole sections by dragging.
- Show or hide items with a Shown/Hidden toggle (Settings always stays visible).
- Set per-teammate access so each person only sees the links they need.

The Dashboard
Your home screen shows today's jobs, money owed, recent activity, and AI insights at a glance.
Search
Use the global search to jump to customers (by name, email, phone, address), jobs, invoices, and quotes from anywhere.
Mobile vs. desktop
Same data and actions on both. On smaller screens the sidebar collapses behind a menu button.
FAQ
Can I rearrange the navigation? Yes — owners can reorder and hide items at Settings → Navigation, and tailor what each teammate sees.
A sidebar link disappeared for one teammate. It's probably unchecked for them under Settings → Navigation → Team member access. Re-check it and save.
What do the Pro / Business badges mean? That link is part of a higher plan. It still shows, and clicking it previews the feature behind an upgrade prompt.
Is there a dark mode? Yes — HandyBook supports light and dark, following your system preference.
