Customer History & Timeline
Every customer record keeps a running history so you can answer questions like "when did we last service them?" and "did anyone follow up?" There are two places to look: the Timeline and the Contact History tab.
Timeline (Business plan)
Open a customer and click the Timeline tab (or go to …/customers/[id]/timeline). It's a chronological activity feed pulled from across the system — jobs, quotes, invoices, payments, and logged communications — newest first, with infinite scroll as you keep loading older events.
The Timeline is a Business-plan feature. On lower plans the tab shows an upgrade prompt; the rest of the record (Service History, Invoices, Quotes, Contact History) stays fully available.
Contact History (all plans)
The Contact History tab is your manual log of interactions. Click Add Note, choose a type — Call, Email, Text, Meeting, or Note — write what happened, and Save. Each entry is stamped with the date and time.
Use it for:
- "Called, left voicemail about the quote"
- "Met on site, walked the basement"
- "Texted to confirm Tuesday"
Hover any entry and click the trash icon to delete it (with confirmation).
Service History
The Service History tab lists every job for the customer — title, status, scheduled date, and amount — so you can see exactly what work you've done and when.
Lifetime Value & follow-ups
- Lifetime Value is in the summary cards at the top of the record.
- If a Next Follow-up date is set, it shows on the Overview tab and flags Overdue once it passes. The Customers list also surfaces a "follow-ups due" banner.
FAQ
What's the difference between Timeline and Contact History? Timeline is the automatic, system-wide feed (Business plan). Contact History is what you log by hand (all plans).
Can the customer see this? No — both are internal.
Can I delete a logged call or note? Yes — delete it from the Contact History tab. Timeline events reflect underlying records (jobs, invoices) and change when those do.
