Your Public Website
HandyBook includes a no-code marketing site you can build in minutes. It's served at yourname.handymanbook.app and lives at Dashboard → Public Site (also reachable as Public Website in the sidebar). It's a Business feature.
Create your site
The first time you open Public Site, you'll see a Create your website card. Enter your business name and click Create your website. HandyBook generates the site and a starting address from your name; you customize everything afterward.
The editor
The page is split into an editor on the left and a Live preview on the right (on wide screens). Edits auto-save — watch the indicator at the top: Saving…, then Saved. The preview refreshes a moment after each save; you can force it with the refresh icon.
Sections are organized into tabs:
- Branding — Primary, Accent, Text, and Background colors; Font family (Inter, Manrope, Space Grotesk, Playfair, Roboto); and your Logo.
- Hero — title, subtitle, CTA button label, and a hero image.
- About — heading, body copy, an image, and Team members.
- Services — add/reorder service cards, each with a title, description, and icon.
- Trust + Testimonials — trust signals (label + value, e.g. "Years in business / 10+") and customer testimonials.
- Slider — toggle an image slider on the homepage and add slides with captions.
- Contact — business name, tagline, phone, email, address, service area, and business hours per day (with a Closed toggle).
- Quote form — choose which fields appear (Name, Email, Phone, Service, Message) and the notification email that quote requests are sent to.
Editing your site address (subdomain)
Your address is shown in the Site address card near the top: yourslug.handymanbook.app. Click Change, type a new address (3–30 characters; letters, numbers, and hyphens only), and Save. A live preview shows the normalized result, and reserved or invalid addresses are flagged.
Changing the address updates your public link — old links stop working, so update anywhere you've shared it.
Publishing
Use the Published / Unpublished toggle in the top bar to take the site live or pull it down. View live opens your site in a new tab. Until you publish, the site isn't visible to the public.
FAQ
Is this the same as the customer portal subdomain?
No. The public website is your marketing site at yourname.handymanbook.app (set under Public Site). The customer portal has its own portal.… subdomain set under Settings → Branding.
Do my edits go live immediately? Edits auto-save as drafts and show in the preview right away. They reach the public site once it's Published (and after the preview/cache refreshes).
Where do quote requests from my site go? To the notification email you set on the Quote form tab.
Is the public website on Starter or Pro? No — it's a Business feature.
