Custom Domain & Site Address

Your customer-facing pages run on handymanbook.app addresses you can brand. There are two separate addresses, both Business features:

  1. Your public website — yourname.handymanbook.app
  2. Your customer portal — a portal.… subdomain

Public website address

Your marketing site lives at <your-slug>.handymanbook.app and is managed at Dashboard → Public Site.

  • The Site address card shows your current address.
  • Click Change, type a new slug (3–30 characters; lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens), and Save.
  • A live preview shows the normalized result; reserved or invalid addresses are flagged.

Changing your address updates your public link — old links stop working, so update it wherever you've shared it.

See Your Public Website for building the site itself.

Customer portal subdomain

The customer portal has its own branded subdomain, reserved at Settings → Branding in the Custom subdomain card. Enter a slug and it forms portal.<slug>.handymanbook.app. Saving reserves the slug; DNS provisioning is handled by HandyBook afterward.

White-labeling

Beyond the subdomains, the Settings → Branding page lets you override HandyBook's defaults with your own Terms and Privacy URLs and your own support email/phone, so customer-facing emails and the portal feel like your brand. See Logo, Colors & Branding.

FAQ

What's the difference between the two addresses? The public website (yourname.handymanbook.app) is your marketing site. The portal (portal.…) is where existing customers view invoices and pay. They're set in different places — Public Site vs. Settings → Branding.

Can I use my own purchased domain (e.g. mybusiness.com)? Today, addresses are subdomains of handymanbook.app. Pick a slug that matches your business name so customers recognize it.

Why did my old link break? Changing the site address replaces the old slug. Both don't run in parallel — update your shared links after changing it.

Is this available on Starter or Pro? No — branding, the public website, and custom addresses are Business features.
