Plans & Tiers Explained

HandyBook has three tiers — Starter, Pro, and Business — and they're designed to grow with you. Higher tiers include everything in the lower ones. You can see and change your plan at Dashboard → Billing.

How pricing works

Every plan is a monthly base price plus a per-seat charge for each additional seat. The exact prices are shown right on the Billing page when you start a trial. There's a 14-day free trial on every plan (a card is required to start it, and you aren't charged until the trial ends). Billing is monthly only today — annual isn't offered yet.

Starter

For the solo handyman getting organized.

Includes:

  • Unlimited jobs, quotes, and invoices
  • Stripe online payments + the customer portal
  • Profitability reports and CSV export
  • The mobile apps (iOS + Android) for every seat
  • Email + priority support

Pro

Everything in Starter, plus the in-store and field tools.

Adds:

  • In-store POS — register with cart, taxes, tips, split payments; items, shifts, sales, tax rates, discounts, hardware, and POS reports
  • Materials Calculator — measurement-driven materials lists
  • QuickBooks Online sync + import
  • Google Calendar two-way sync
  • GPS mileage tracking, photo sketchpad, and the AI quote builder where included

Business

Everything in Pro, plus CRM, AI, multi-location, and branding.

Adds:

  • CRM — drip email + SMS campaigns, pipeline (Kanban), lead-source ROI, review automation, referrals
  • AI tools — Quote from Photo, Quote from Voice, AI Insights, AI Customer Chatbot, AI Bill Matcher
  • Branding & Public Website — logo/colors, branded customer portal, custom domain, and your own marketing site at yourname.handymanbook.app
  • Operations — multi-location P&L, staff dispatch board + on-duty workers, custom forms, service plans
  • Finance — cash flow forecast, receipt OCR, auto mileage, sales-tax automation, 1099 prep
  • Owner Dashboard + advanced reports, Zapier

What you see when a feature is above your tier

Gated screens don't just bounce you away. HandyBook shows you a dimmed, read-only preview of the real page behind an upgrade modal, so you can see exactly what you'd get. In the sidebar, gated links keep a small Pro or Business badge so you always know what unlocks where.

Choosing a tier

  • Starter — you're solo and want jobs, quotes, invoices, and payments handled cleanly.
  • Pro — you sell at a counter (POS), want QuickBooks/Calendar sync, or need field tools like mileage.
  • Business — you want CRM + automation, AI, a branded public site, or you run multiple locations or a crew.

Trials & adding seats

  • The trial runs 14 days; you can change your seat count any time from Billing → Change seats.
  • Stripe pro-rates seat changes to the day — upgrades bill immediately, downgrades become a credit on your next invoice.

A note on affiliates

If you're in the HandyBook affiliate program, your account may be on a comped Business plan. See the Affiliates category for the details.
