Revenue Report
The Revenue Report is your top-line view of money coming in. Use it daily to know how the business is tracking, and monthly for deeper analysis.
What it shows
- Gross revenue — total of paid invoices in the period (before fees, before refunds)
- Net revenue — gross minus refunds and Stripe fees
- Period comparison — vs. previous period, vs. same period last year
- Trend chart — daily / weekly / monthly bars
Filters
- Date range — preset (today, this week, this month, this year, last 30/90/365 days) or custom
- Location — for multi-location accounts
- Service type / category — break down by what you actually sold
- Tech / team member — revenue per person
- Customer type — residential vs. commercial
- Lead source — revenue per marketing channel
Breakdowns
The report can pivot by:
- Service category (e.g. "Plumbing 40%, HVAC 30%, General handyman 30%")
- Customer (top revenue customers)
- Tech (top earners)
- Job type (one-off vs. recurring)
- Location (multi-location)
Cash vs. accrual view
Toggle at the top:
- Cash basis (default) — revenue is recognized when payment is received
- Accrual basis — revenue is recognized when invoice is sent
Cash is what most small businesses report on for tax. Accrual gives a better operational view.
Forecasting
Below the actuals, you'll see a forecast:
- Based on outstanding (unpaid but sent) invoices

- Plus pipeline value × historical close rate
Useful for "what's the next 30 days likely to look like?"
Key numbers to watch
- MRR (monthly recurring revenue) — recurring plan + maintenance customers
- MoM growth — this month vs. last month
- YoY growth — this month vs. same month last year (filters out seasonality)

FAQ
Why is my revenue different from QuickBooks? Common reasons: cash vs. accrual difference, voided invoices treated differently, refunds posted in different periods. Reconcile by drilling into a specific period in both systems and matching invoice-by-invoice.
Does this include POS sales? Yes — POS sales count toward revenue same as invoiced jobs.
Are tips counted in revenue? Tips are tracked separately so they don't inflate your revenue. View tips under Reports → Tips.
What about deposits — when are those counted? With cash basis: when the deposit is paid. With accrual: when the original invoice was issued (deposits are part of the same invoice contract).
Why does my revenue chart have a small dip every weekend? Most home-service businesses do less work weekends — perfectly normal. Smoothing the data weekly hides this if the daily view bothers you.
