What Works on Mobile vs. the Web Dashboard
The mobile app and the web dashboard share one account and one set of data, but they're tuned for different jobs. The short version: the app is for doing the work; the web is for running the business.
What the app is great for
- Today's jobs — the home screen leads with your schedule. Tap any job for the customer, address, line items, notes, and prior photos.
- Navigation — tap an address to open your maps app and drive there.
- Photos — capture before/after shots straight from the camera while you're on site.
- Signatures — collect a customer signature right on the screen.
- Time on the job — start and complete jobs as you arrive and finish.
- Payments at the door — collect card payments in the field (a paired card reader keeps card data off the phone and routes it to Stripe).
- Quick customer lookups — find a customer, see their history, and call or text in a tap.
What you'll use the web dashboard for
Some things are intentionally web-first because they need room or carry money risk:
- Plan, seat, and billing changes — upgrades, seats, and annual billing live at Billing on the web.
- Stripe Connect onboarding — the identity-verification form is far easier on a laptop.
- Bulk customer import — loading a CSV from your old system (Customers → Import).
- Detailed reports — Revenue, Profitability, Cash Flow, AR aging, and more under Reports.
- Refunds — handled deliberately on the web to avoid accidental taps.
- Team management, integrations, branding, and multi-location settings — all configured on the web.
Things you can do on both
- Quotes and invoices — build either on the phone for fast, on-site work, or on the web when you want the full layout, galleries, and previews.
- Customers — view full history on the phone; merge duplicates, bulk-tag, and export on the web.
- Schedule — see your day on the phone; use the drag-and-drop dispatcher view on the web.
A typical day
Owner reviews and rearranges the schedule on the web in the morning. The tech opens the app, sees today's jobs, drives out, starts each job, captures photos and a signature, and takes payment at the door. The owner glances at the day's cash on the phone at lunch, then closes out invoices and sends reminders on the web in the evening.
FAQ
I can't find a feature on the app — is it missing? It's probably web-only by design (see the list above). If you still can't find it anywhere, contact support and describe what you're trying to do.
Will changes on one show up on the other? Yes — both read and write the same account, so your data stays in sync.
