Installing the App & Signing In
HandyBook has a companion mobile app for iOS and Android, built for the field — running today's jobs, capturing photos and signatures, and taking payment at the door. It shares the same account and the same data as the web dashboard, so anything you do on the phone shows up on the web and vice versa.
Installing
- iPhone / iPad: open the App Store, search for HandyBook, and tap Get.
- Android: open the Google Play Store, search for HandyBook, and tap Install.
Make sure your device is reasonably up to date so the app runs smoothly.
Signing in
You use the same email and password as the web dashboard — there's no separate mobile account.
- Open the app and tap Sign in.
- Enter the email and password you use at handymanbook.app.
- Tap Sign in.
If you're a team member, the owner invites you from the web (Team) and you set your password from the invite email — then sign in on the app with those credentials. See Team members & roles under Account.
Trouble signing in?
- Forgot your password? Reset it from the web sign-in screen; the new password works on the app immediately.
- Not getting the invite or reset email? Check your spam folder — see Email not received in Troubleshooting.
- Just changed your plan or seats? Those changes are web-only; the app picks them up next time it syncs.
What to do first
Once you're in, your home screen is built around today's schedule. Tap a job to see the customer, address, line items, and any notes or prior photos. From there you can navigate, capture photos, log time, and collect payment.
FAQ
Is the mobile app a separate purchase? No — it's included with your HandyBook account at no extra cost. Your plan tier carries over.
Can the whole team use the app? Yes. Each person signs in with their own account, so every action keeps its own audit trail.
Do I need the app and the web dashboard? Owners typically use both. Techs mostly live in the app; office staff mostly use the web. See What works on mobile for the split.
